While March brought songs, vibes and feels that I didn't see coming, April reciprocated that very same energy providing new unforgettable moments in music. Here are my top 10 songs from April!

1. Beyoncé - Before I Let Go

Get your grills ready, grab your family and friends, and let's party all day long with this one! After not only impacting the culture (yet again) with her "Homecoming" Netflix documentary, Queen Bey followed it releasing the live album of her monumental Coachella set, "Homecoming." With the release of the album came this beautiful gem.

The Queen took Frankie Beverly's iconic, world known, "Before I Let Go" and added her... Houston flavor to it to create a moment in time that we will never forget. While singing the original lyrics with her angelic vocals, Bey decided to make us get up and dance adding steps for us to follow at each and every cookout, party, and any other black event.

2. Lil Uzi Vert - Sanguine Paradise

If you know me, you know I love Uzi. His charisma, demeanor, mannerisms, and personality are enough to reel you in. Add the rockstar trap vibe he displays and it's a wrap. Sampling K Camp and Mykko Montana's 2012 hit, "Do It," Uzi completely reinvents the record and adds some HEAT to it.

From beginning to end, the track gets you utterly hype and makes you want to go insane! The moment that beat drops, it gets immediately hectic. Along with the quick clever wordplay, cocky bars, and bold swag, Uzi creates yet another experience that fans (including myself) will be feeling all summer long.

3. Kelow LaTesha - "Not You Then Who?"

Kelow has become one of my newest favorite artists in such a short amount of time! Dropping her mixtape, "TSA" at the end of April, "Not You Then Who?" is literally a mood. Bringing all of that DMV Pizazz, to the record, Kelow creates this cocky tune that makes you just immediately feel yourself.

If you're having a bad day, turn this on and I promise you'll be feeling great afterwards. Her delivery is so unorthodox. Her flow is unlike anything I've heard before and she truly is UP NEXT in the DMV.

4. Rico Nasty - Hatin

Anyone who knows me knows, I. Love. Rico Nasty. With her latest tape, "Anger Management" with her friend and long-time producer, Kenny Beats, Rico taps into new energy on "Hatin!"

Over Timbaland's beat for Jay-Z's legendary "Dirt Off Your Shoulder," Rico goes completely off! Her energy is uncontainable and she explodes all over the beat. Unapologetic in her execution, she digs IN on the track and it makes for a great listen.

5. ScHoolboy Q - Floating (feat. 21 Savage)

With the release of his third album, "CrasH Talk," ScHoolboy Q made quite the statement with this gem. From the first listen, I couldn't get enough of the record. Q and 21 made pure magic on the track and it is literally contagious.

6. Lil Uzi Vert - That's a Rack

Releasing both "Sanguine Paradise" and this witty tune together, Uzi quickly reminded the listeners that he can still make them hits that bring the shoulder & eye rolls out. In both the song and video for "That's A Rack" Uzi brings that same swag that made us fall in love with him. The bars, delivery, and energy are very comedic and childlike but the song is just so catchy. The video is pretty epic too!

7. Jessie Reyez & 6LACK - Imported

Jessie Reyez has definitely popped up on my radar lately and this song here definitely made me want more! Jessie and 6LACK create pure magic on this track. Their voices blend together in such a beautiful way leaving you wanting more after the song is over. Like a wine aging over time, the two just get better and better as the song progresses.

8. Tink - I Need Ur Love

Leave it to Tink to deliver the exact type of feels that you need at the very right moment. Bringing that GOOD feeling R&B back to the genre, "I Need Ur Love" is authentic, heartfelt, and fulfilling to the soul. From the lyricism to the vocal skill, Tink never disappoints!

9. Khalid, Megan Thee Stallion & Yo Gotti - Talk (REMIX)

Now, I never knew I needed this remix, but I am oh so grateful for it. Megan's intermixing of rapping and singing is literally perfect, Khalid adds the suave old-school 90's R&B appeal, and Yo Gotti still adds a hint of trap to end it just right. The song was already great in its original state, but the remix is definitely lovely as well.

10. Lil Nas X - Old Town Road (feat. Billy Ray Cyrus)

Grab your cowboy hats, gather your saddles, and put on your best cowboy boots because Lil Nas X takes you on the best country ride of your life! Now, while I have never been into the genre of country, I simply could not get enough of this song.

Mixing the styles of both Hip-Hop and Country, Lil Nas X and Billy Ray come together to unleash pure fire amongst us. Honestly, Billy came out of nowhere and wanted literally all of the smoke! He gave us bars!

True story: I refused to play the song (both the original and the remix) until social media went ballistic about the remix. Let's just say after I decided to play it on the car ride home... I played it on a loop 6 times. I nearly let out my biggest "Yeehaw" on the road.

Even just beginning his career, Lil Nas X has already etched a moment in history for himself with this song!

April left us with some fire music and I literally cannot wait to see what May brings. I hope you all enjoy this and even discover some tunes you may never have heard before!
